Travis Gillespie's athleticism shows through in all his sporting acitivities. Field lacrosse, box lacrosse, rugby, hockey and wrestling are some of the many sports in which Travis excels.

Travis keeps himself in superb physical condition and is looking to continue playing field lacrosse in a U.S. college, beginning in September 1997.

Travis has been an honor roll student throughout Grade 11. He has received letters for academic and athletic achievement.

Travis is a defenseman and has been selected for the Provincial All-Star team in each of the past 3 seasons. Even playing up in the Varsity Division's national Championship, Travis has been a real leader for his team. Travis is a 3 year veteran of National caliber championships and still has two year's left in the Varsity Division.

Travis began his lacrosse career at four years old in box lacrosse. Primarily a goaltender until his early teens, Travis' athletic ability allowed him to win a starting forward position in Midget 'A'. At last year's Box Championship he was selected as the team defensive MVP.

Travis' leadership is a strong reason many of his teams do so well. As an accomplished field lacrosse player, Travis has many awards to show for his ability.

Travis is also a fully certified referee and coach. In 1996 Travis earned the Dorothy Robertson bursary. This is awarded by the British Columbia Lacrosse Association to an athlete who is a major contributor to lacrosse in his community.

Travis has the character and ability to play for a US College lacrosse program. He hopes to follow many of the local lacrosse players in that tradition.
