John Olson is an elite athlete excelling in all sports. John's superb stick skills have developed in the competitive box leagues of British Columbia. Since starting the game at the age of five John has always been one of the top players in the province.
Those skills and experience have enabled him to crack the lineup of the Minto Cup finalist Burnaby Lakers in the intensely competitive B C Junior 'A' box league. This is remarkable considering he is still two years underage.
John added field lacrosse to his repertoire five years ago and has decided to "be the best in lacrosse he can be." To that end John has dropped the sport of hockey even though he was a top candidate pursued by the Canadian Major Junior Hockey leagues.
John attended the Loyola College Top 205 lacrosse camp in July of 1996. He was able to meet and test his skills with the continents best lacrosse players. It was this camp and the comments he received from many of the coaches which is helping him decide which college to attend in September 1997.
In 1995, John was British Columbia's top Midget box lacrosse player and Captained his team to the Provincial Championship. He has earned many well deserved accolades from coaches and officials for his play and leadership abilities. John is the type of player you build a team around, the one the other players look up to.
John's letters' of recommendation are glowing indeed. From his provincial coach, to his regional and club coaches and other highly regarded administrators, the consensus: John Olson will be an excellent addition to any college lacrosse program.
John is now entertaining offers and admissions for September 1997.
