BC FIELD U19 - 1997 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The North Fraser Mountaineers defeated the Tri-City Adanacs 7 - 6 in the gold medal game, to capture the Varsity Championships last weekend. The Adanacs who had gone 4 - 0 in the round robin had won the previous four championships. This was only their 3rd defeat in 5 years, since the team's inception.
The Bronze medal game had Burnaby/New West Warriors defeat the Victoria Waxmen 12 - 4.
The tournament was played at Mercer Stadium on Saturday but due to weather and field conditions, moved to Newton Athletic Park for Sunday games.
A special thanks to all the volunteers and officials who made the tournament a success.

U-11, U-13 and U-16 Provincial results
U-16
The U-11, U-13 and U-16 Provincial Championships were held last weekend (April 12 - 13th) at the Mission Fields in Mission.
The weather was super and the lacrosse was even better. Vancouver Island was well represented, sending at least one team in every division. They also came away with lots of hardware and showed some of the Lower Mainland teams they are going to have to work a little harder.
Here are the results of all three divisions. And a big hats off to all the volunteers and organizers involved with the Championships. From all the players, coaches and parents, THANK YOU!!!
